Contrary to known tools such as Spreadsheets, [Q]uaestor is able to generate solutions based on the simple request to calculate one or more parameters in a knowledge base. Besides formulas, relations, equations and parameters, this knowledge base can also interface existing software programs, Spreadsheets and databases. The generation of a solution in [Q]uaestor is and interactive process with the user. In this dialogue the system will request information (data, choices), selects or proposes defined methods available in the knowledge base and solves calculable parameters. The leading principle of [Q]uaestor is that it tries to determine and solve required but not available information based on available knowledge (relations, programs, data) in the knowledge base.
